BAFTAs Come to Covent Garden
- 60th anniversary event celebrated with giant screen on piazza

BAFTAs Come to Covent GardenSUNDAY sends Covent Garden go to the movies as the Orange British Film Academy Awards spills out onto the piazza from the adjacent Royal Opera House.

A giant screen will greet film fans on the piazza and thousands are expected to turn up the event, this year celebrating its 60th anniversary.

For those wanting to get closer still to the likes of Dames Helen Mirren and Judi Dench and James Bond Daniel Craig – all nominated for gongs – BAFTA organisers are offering early birds the chance to stand in the pens that line the red carpet entrance to the RSH.

To get in the pens, you’ll need one of the special wrist bands that are due to be handed out from 7am-9am on Sunday. Then it’s a question of finding something to do in town until the stars start arriving from about 4pm.
Both the wristbands and access to the giant screen is free.
