Amy Winehouse Crisis Deepens
- September tour to US and Canada postponed

Amy Winehouse Crisis DeepensTROUBLED soul singer Amy Winehouse has been forced to pull out of her North American tour next month due to continued ill health.

The cancellations come fresh off the back of her no-show at last weekend’s V Festival. Winehouse, who has checked in and out of a rehab centre twice in the past seven days is reported to be suffering the effects of a series of booze and drug fuelled binges over the recent months.

Postponing her September dates would help her ‘address her health issues’ says a statement on her website (see below).

The news follows sordid weekend revelations by Amy’s ex-lover Johnny Headlock who claimed the singer’s relationship with new husband Blake Fielder-Civil is at the root of her drug problem.

Johnny told The News Of The World: "You can see Amy's besotted. She needs someone to treat her mean. She wants to live a rock 'n' roll lifestyle. That's why she's so influenced by those around her."

"It's sad what's happened to Amy. She's very talented and needs help right now. Drugs are everywhere she goes. I can see why she's got problems."

Despite the efforts of those around her to help her stay clean, Amy was spotted slipping into her favourite Camden pub, The Hawley Arms in recent days.

The US and Canadian gigs are expected to be rescheduled for early in 2008.

Official Amy Winehouse Statement
“Due to the rigours involved in touring, Amy Winehouse, who is taking time out to address her health issues, has been advised to postpone her upcoming September US and Canadian tour dates. Amy’s European and UK tour dates in October and November remain in place. There will be no further comment.”
