India Now Comes to Trafalgar Square
- Three-month celebration begins with Bollywood extravaganza

India Now Comes to Trafalgar Square. Picture copyright: LondonNet LimitedTRAFALGAR SQUARE today fires the opening salvoes of India Now, a three-month long celebration of Indian culture.

Dance and music based on Bollywood films has been chosen to launch the festival, with performers from India and the UK turning up on the square from 6pm this evening onwards.

"The Trafalgar Square Festival guarantees to be nothing short of spectacular," was how London Mayor Ken Livingstone put it.

Venues such as Somerset House, the Royal Albert Hall and Regent Street get in on the act for India Now, with theatrical performances, talks, exhibitions and food events adding to the movie and dance acts previewed on Trafalgar Square.
