|George Michael in Court the Day Before Wembley|
- Judge uses music knowledge to set drugs-driving trial date
THE JUDGE for George Michael's upcoming 'driving while unfit through drugs' trial has used the singer's date at the new Wembley stadium to guarantee his appearance in court.
"He is around in the area because I believe he is appearing at Wembley Stadium," said District Judge Katherine Marshall of Brent Magistrate's Court.
"I do not think he will have any difficulty in being here on June 8."
The former Wham! frontman is due to play the first pop concert at the new stadium the next day, 9 June. He faces two charges related to an incident last autumn, when the 43-year-old was alleged to have been found slumped asleep at the wheel of his car after a cannabis session.
