Latin Legends Arrive for La Linea Festival
- Annual event brings together varied genres for two-weeks of music and dance

Bajofondo Tango Club, courtesy Barbican CentreSOME of the all-time legends of Latin music are in London over the next fortnight for the annual La Linea Festival.

From salsa to jazz, funk and soul and more, a huge variety of Latin music is due to come swaying by one of the several venues supporting the festival, now in its seventh year.

Among the highlights is the appearance of Eliades Ochoa, one of the stalwarts of the Buena Vista Social Club. Other big names set to appear include Israel 'Cachao' Lopez, said to be the first man to use mambo rhythms and Bebel Gilberto, hugely successful in and out of Brazil in her own right, but also the daughter of another legend, Gilberto Gil.

This Saturday, the Barbican hosts Bajofondo Tango Club (pictured), whose leader, Gustavo Santaolalla, wrote the evocative score for Brokeback Mountain.
