Livingstone Bans Music on Buses
- No mercy to be shown to passengers with no headphones

Livingstone Bans Music on Buses (Image: Copyright TfL 2005)DON'T play music out loud on buses. That's the message being plugged by Ken Livingstone following lobbying led by The Music Free Bus Campaign.

MP3 players with headphones are okay, but not so phones which play music out loud out of annoyingly tinny little speakers.

At first, it seems MFBC would have been satisfied if buses featured posters asking passengers not to disturb others with their music, but the London Mayor has gone much further and is now in favour of an "absolute prohibition on playing music from a mobile system."

Livingstone says those caught playing music out loud will be asked to leave the bus and children and teenagers told to hand over their free bus passes.

The position on singing on buses is as yet unclear, but in most cases probably wouldn't constitute "music" in any case.
