|London's Carbon Footprint to be Measured|
- Boffins at King's College reveal climate plan
RESEARCHERS at London's King's College have revealed plans to measure the capital's carbon footprint.
Fresh from a carbon study in Baltimore, U.S.A, Professor Sue Grimmond of KCL wants to conduct a similar assessment here. The idea is to set up a series of scientific testing stations across the city to monitor the flows of gases including Carbon Dioxide.
"Increasingly the focus of urban climate research is on understanding the fundamental processes that generate urban climates, not just the resultant effects," claims Prof. Grimmond*.
She says the findings will give a clearer impression of London's contribution, if any, to the global climate and assist with future planning decisions in the capital.
