|Thousands Line Up at Music for Youth Festival|
- South of the river goes first, north London to follow in the national youth music movement
A MONTH-LONG celebration of music played by young people starts today at Morley College's Centre for Young Musicians in Lambeth.
The south London leg of the Music for Youth festival is set to welcome nearly 3,000 school-age performers, playing a wide variety of instruments in a bewildering range of styles. In short, pretty much anyone in the right age-group had the chance to take part, on a first come first served basis.
From the 23rd March, itís north Londonís turn, with its festival going ahead at LSO St Lukes in Islington. In the summer a national version of the event takes place in Birmingham with even more young musicians - up to 10,000 - taking part.
