|Sprite Urban Games Dances, Rides and Skates onto Clapham Common|
- Air Guitar the latest entry into annual multiple event spectacular
SKATEBOARDING, B-Boy, BMX, top DJs and even England in the World Cup quarter-final are on show at Clapham Common this weekend for the annual Sprite Urban Games, set to be host to upwards of 20,000 people.
The Games’ organisers have arranged a 10 square metres big screen for the England-Portugal game, which kicks off at 4.00pm on Saturday, but otherwise the attention will be on skaters, BMXers and B-Boy crews who have flown in from all over the world for the event.
As well as the international angle, British Championship competitions go ahead in all three categories. The B-Boy crews will perform in front of a stadium built for 2,000 people, the biggest capacity for the event ever at the Urban Games.
New this year is an Air Guitar competition, which anyone can enter. The crowd gets to choose the winner, who will walk away with a Les Paul 100 guitar and an official entry into the UK Air Guitar Championship, held in Brighton in July.
The Urban Games run from Friday afternoon through to Sunday evening. More info at: http://www.spriteurbangames.com/
