- Athletes turn out to back money-raising effort for the 2012 games
SALLY GUNNELL, James Cracknell and Jonathan Edwards are among the athletes helping launch the new Olympic lottery game today.
Called Dream Number, the game is part of an overall lottery effort that is scheduled to raise UKP1.5 billion of the UKP2.3 billion needed to fund the 2012 Olympics.
Apart from Dream Number, there are set to be other themed lottery games to keep interest high in the long six-year run-up to the games themselves. Meanwhile, the Olympic organising committee report that sales of its lottery scratchcard have exceeded forecasts.
Also at today’s launch will be Seb Coe, head of the organising committee, Culture Minister Tessa Jowell and Dianne Thompson, CEO of lottery company Camelot.
