- Campaign group to get tragi-comic treatment

IN THE WEEK Fathers 4 Justice decided to disband, news has come through that the dads’s rights group is to be the subject for a major Hollywood film.

“I want people to be able to see what has been going on behind the tabloid headlines with police chasing us and how hard it has been to hold it all together some times,” said Matt O‘Connor, founder of Fathers 4 Justice. “There will be tragedy but it is going to be very funny.”

The rights to the story have been bought by Disney and the movie will be produced by the people who made Calendar Girls, another film which tackled, with humour, a group of eccentric English activists.

It is highly likely the Fathers 4 Justice film will include some of the groups famous stunts, including flour-bombing Tony Blair and appearing on various London monuments dressed as superheroes.

O’Connor wound up Fathers 4 Justice this week after it emerged some of its members had talked of kidnapping Blair’s young son Leo and that others were secret service infiltrators.
