|Met: We Have to Speak to Kate|
- Moss wanted in on-going drugs investigation
KATE MOSS is still wanted by London police in connection with her cocaine habit.
Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur has made a fresh appeal to the supermodel to return to the UK from the US to answer queries based on newspaper reports of her drug-taking.
“The investigation is progressing well and the Met is closing in on those who are behind the supply of drugs,” said Ghaffur. “But we have got to speak to Kate. I am making an appeal for Kate to come back to this country.”
Ghaffur fuelled the idea that his force sees the Moss case as an example for others and said the Met would continue “targeting the middle and upper classes who use cocaine” in order to save “impressionable young people”.
Despite the fresh appeal for Moss’s return, Ghaffur said he wasn’t about to launch extradition proceedings against Moss.
“I have no intention at all of sending officers to the USA or seeking her extradition,” said Ghaffur, and offered an olive-branch to the Croydon-born beauty: “She would be dealt with very fairly and proportionately, as would be the case with anybody else.”
