|Carol Singers to Banish the Shopping Blues|
- Evening sessions at Trafalgar Square promise succour for the soul
SHOPPERS in central London this weekend can find Christmas relief in the form of the evening carol concerts at Trafalgar Square.
Traditionally the biggest shopping fest of the year, the Saturday and Sunday before Christmas see huge crowds swoop on the likes of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Covent Garden, all of which are within a short walk from Trafalgar Square, where choirs mass to add their own evocative slice of seasonal spirit.
Singers start their performances at 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with various groups taking it in turns to use their hearts and lungs to raise money for charity.
The line-up for this weekend is:
