Poems for London Reach for the Sky
- Beckett lines to be beamed onto landmark buildings for next week

Poems for London Reach for the SkyLINES of poetry will light up London for eight nights starting Friday in an experimental work by American artist Jenny Holzer.

Called For London, the work will feature mainly the words of Samuel Beckett, whose 100th birthday is currently being celebrated at the Barbican, as well as other poets, beamed onto some famous London landmarks including City Hall, Somerset House and the Barbican itself.

The effect is described as being like watching the rolling credits to a movie.

Holzer has long pioneered the use of public spaces as a canvas for moving words of poetry.

Having previously displayed her work on buildings, mountains and rivers throughout Europe and North and South America, this is her first effort for London.
