Ice Slide for South Bank
- It's a slippery slope to Christmas

THIRTY feet long, freezing cold and populated by screaming people on rubber rings, the Ice Slide on the south bank of the Thames near Tate Modern is one of London's oddest new attractions and potentially one of its most exciting.

"The Ice Slide is such a unique activity and it promises to be one of the most fun things to do in London this Christmas," said Columba Blango, of Southwark Council, the authority responsible for the ride.

The four lane slide opens on Friday, 17th of December and is to stay up until the 9th of January. It will be open from 10am until 8pm on weekdays and 10am until 10pm from Friday to Sunday at a cost of UKP2 for three rides on special rubber rings.

For just one day - Friday the 17th - the Ice Slide runs alongside a Frost Fair, a revived seasonal fair that dates back hundreds of years.
