Jonny Lee Miller Takes on Billy Liar
- Brit star rumoured to be up for lead role in film remake

TRAINSPOTTING star Jonny Lee Miller is touted for the role of Billy Liar in a new version of the 60s classic.

Other names doing the rounds for parts in the remake include Charlize Theron who is wanted to play Liz, originally played by Julie Christie.

Based on the book by Keith Waterhouse, Billy Liar tells the story of a boy, Billy Fisher (played by Tom Courtenay in the 1963 original) who conjures up the land of Ambrosia in order to escape from his day-to-day boredom.

"The timing for a new Billy Liar couldn't be better," said a film insider. "So many youngsters are disillusioned and in search of excitement."
