Walk-In Health Centres Set for Stations
- Commuter clinics earmarked for both over and underground

MAINLINE and Tube stations in London will get walk-in clinics by early next year.

The idea is to cater for commuters who find it difficult getting to their local GP surgery during working hours. The clinics are to be open from 7am-7pm.

"These centres will improve access to primary care for a proportion of society that has traditionally been poorly served," said Health Minister John Hutton. "The 12-hour opening hours and convenient location are ideal for meeting the needs of today's patients."

The actual locations of the new quick-stop health-centres is set to be decided on by the new year.
