| Coe: London's Bid is on the March
- Hope raised as 600 page is sent to IOC LONDON'S bid for the 2012 Olympic games is running a close second to Paris's, according to bid leader Seb Coe on the day he sends the final bid dossier to the International Olympic Committee. "Most observers on the international front think we have narrowed the gap quite dramatically since January," said Coe. "People whose opinions I value have said we have made up a lot of ground." London's provisional bid made earlier this year was criticised by the IOC for poor transport links, a failing Coe and his team believe they have now tackled. Once the IOC has read the 600-page reports sent in by the five candidates (the three others are Madrid, Moscow and New York), its members will visit the cities early next year and make a final decision on the 6th July 2005. |
