|Hitchcock In The West End
- Terry Johnson's play transfers
HITCHCOCK BLONDE by Terry Johnson transfers to the Lyric Theatre June 25. The play continues at the Royal Court until May 24 before replacing Dance Of Death, soon to close prematurely despite Frances De La Tour's lead performance.
Johnson's play concerns a media lecturer and his female protégé who find some deteriorated Hitchcock footage in the basement of a Greek villa. The mystery concerning what film has been uncovered and who the mysterious blonde might be is performed by David 'Four Weddings And A Funeral' Haig and Bond girl Rosamund Pike.
Johnson directs his own play, building on his experience adapting and directing the Graduate in the West End. Hitchcock Blonde looks set to follow in the footsteps of Mouth To Mouth, another Royal Court play to enjoy success at the Lyric.
