McCartney to be Dome Headliner
- Revamped Millennium Experience to net Sir Paul for 2005

THE ALMOST forgotten Millennium Dome could resound to the sound of Sir Paul McCartney when it re-opens as an entertainment venue in two years time.

McCartney has been pencilled in as the headline act in what is expected to be a star-studded concert in 2005. "We have asked Paul to do it and he seemed very keen," said Timothy Leweike, head of the Anschutz Entertainment Group which now owns the Greenwich Dome.

Anschutz's plans for the Dome centre around a 20,000 capacity entetainment complex that would see the venue's total revamp, though the striking tent-like roof would be kept.

McCartney himself doesn't plan to wait around for two years to perform live. The legendary former beatle is to play a series of gigs in London this April.
