- Science Museum gets Lord of the Rings exhibition
THE SCIENCE behind the magic of the Lord of the Rings films will be on show at the Science Museum in South Kensington from this autumn.
Fans will be able to discover many of the technical cinematic secrets that have helped make Peter Jackson's movies such a hit at the box office. Costumes, props and interactive hobbit exhibits promise to make the exhibition an event that will attract thousands of visitors.
"Visitors are at an all time high already, with 2.7 million per year at the moment," said Jon Tucker, head of the Science Museum. "We think this exhibition will be absolutely huge, and fans will be flocking to see it."
The exhibition is a transfer from New Zealand, where the films were made, and London is the only European venue favoured by its presence. It is due to open from 16 September 2003 - 11 January 2004.
