Free Flights For Concorde
- Competition opens for last week of supersonic travel

CONCORDE fans will get the chance to win a free ride on the world's fastest and most elegant aeroplane before it is forced into retirement this autumn.

Perhaps stung by the criticism it has faced since announcing its plan to mothball Concorde, British Airways (BA) has decided to offer 325 pairs of tickets for a farewell tour that will visit places such as Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Manchester.

"Concorde is a fantastic aircraft, which means so much to so many people," said BA marketing director Martin George. "We want as many people as possible to experience supersonic travel before Concorde retires at the end of October."

Competition winners will travel on Concorde in the week leading up to 24 October, the day the plane makes its last scheduled trip from London to New York.
