|Palmer Eyes New Stage Role|
- Eastenders' Bianca gets dramatic in Squint
PATSY PALMER is to star in a new play called Squint at the Chelsea Theatre. Tony Craze's gritty drama marks the third professional stage performance for the former Eastenders' actress and runs 22 September to 18 October.
The play critiques the shallowness of modern life and marks a departure for
Palmer from the role of Ricky Butcher's materialistic wife in the long-running soap. Craze focuses on the roles of drink, drugs and religion in the lives of disillusioned twenty-somethings, turning a cynical eye on the world depicted by TV dramas.
Verity Bargate Award winner Tony Craze builds on the success of his last play Passion, which proved a hit at the Chelsea theatre. Palmer's most recent stage performance was in Mum's the Word at the Albery theatre, following her debut as an elf in The Night Before Christmas at the Riverside Studios.
