Harry Potter vs. the Government
- Boy-wizard to battle establishment in next book

HARRY POTTER takes on the Ministry of Magic in the next instalment of the best-selling children's book series, according to leaks from Potter's US publishers.

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, the fifth book in JK Rowling's boy-wizard series, is published in Britain on 21 June by Bloomsbury. Until now, its contents have been shrouded in secrecy.

But US publisher Scholastic have revealed bits of the plot in a promotional catalogue. Muggles, people like us who don't possess magical powers, can expect Harry to fight bungling officials at the Ministry of Magic, a defence against the dark arts teacher described as "poisoned honey," and his usual main enemy, Lord Voldemort.

Harry and friends also have to put up with the dreaded end-of-term Ordinary Wizarding Level exams and a horrible nightmare that is described as "more terrifying than every other nightmare combined."

Over 8 million advanced orders have already been made for the Order of Phoenix. Chamber of Secrets, Potter's second adventure, is the first choice in Britain's libraries.
