London TV Producer in SCARS Scare
- 'I am being kept in isolation,' says ITV sport staffer

THE NEW pneumonia-type disease known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) looks to have hit a Londoner with the news that TV journalist Sally Blowers appears to have contracted the infection.

"I feel awful. I have a very high fever of 102 and I've had it for three days now," Blowers said. "I am being kept in isolation. I have spoken to my family, and of course they are worried for me. I will find out tomorrow morning what the test results are."

Blowers, 41 years old of Wimbledon south west London, a producer on ITV's motor racing coverage, has now been quarantined in Brazil where she is working. She has recently been in Malaysia where other incidents of SARS have been discovered.

SARS is believed to have begun in China and then spread to Hong Kong, where 17 people are reported to have died from the disease. The British government has advised people not to travel to Hong Kong and other Far East destinations.
