Music To West End Ears
- The Sound of Music makes a come back

ANDREW LLOYD-WEBBER's production of The Sound of Music premieres at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the Spring. His negotiations with Richard Rodgers' widow, who holds copyright to the musical, have been successful.

The Oscar winning 1965 film started as a musical in 1959, composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Now Lloyd Webber hopes to recapture the success of the West End premiere back in 1961 when the musical ran for six years.

The search for a new star of the musical that made Julie Andrews' name has just begun. Former star of Chicago Denise van Outen is one big name being touted for the role, according to industry insiders. "I can't believe I'll be producing the sound of music, it should be quite fun," said Lloyd Webber.
