Festival to Light Up the Thames
- Fireworks and lanterns anchor annual river show

THE THAMES FESTIVAL will draw a big crowd of Londoners this weekend for a few days of food, music, and celebration. A free event, the festival is designed to attract Londoners from all corners of the city onto the banks of its defining resource, the river.

The festival will celebrate London's diversity with, among other sights and sounds, a Japanese Nebuta float illuminated by 800 bulbs; River of Joy, an energetic reinterpretation of Rio carnival; the reggae stylings of the Jazz Jamaican All-Stars; and brass rhythms of Siren Space.

The festival will culminate at 7:30pm on Sunday 15th with a candle-lit procession down the traffic-free riverside streets leading to a fireworks display at 10pm, transforming the Thames into a pool of light and colour.
