| Early Xmas Present for European E-Commerce
- US to be left behind in on-line spending stakes ON-LINE shoppers in Europe are expected to overtake their American counterparts by spending more in the run up to Christmas, according to a new report. "Europeans are using multiple channels, browsing printed catalogues and then ordering online," said Bill Mander an analyst with GartnerG2, who compiled the research. "We're seeing this happen more, especially in the clothing and toy merchandise industries." GartnerG2 estimate that European consumers will spend 10.17 billion dollars in the October to December period, with Americans splashing out a mere 15.7 dollars. Future e-commerce growth is predicted by GartnerG2 as Europeans adopt broadband in increasing numbers. |
