- Mini-maxi art show mixes student and celeb art
PAINTINGS by artists and celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney and Damien Hirst go on sale next month as part of the Secret Postcard exhibition at the Royal College of Art.
Most of the postcards on display and on sale will have been painted by students at the college, but dotted amongst the hundreds of mini works of art will be efforts donated by leading figures from the art world and beyond. The catch is that no one will know which ones.
"This has become one of the largest and smallest exhibitions of contemporary art in the world," said Sir Christopher Frayling, rector of the RCA. "It is a fun and creative way of raising money for the students."
This year's Secret Postcard Exhibition - the ninth - starts on November 21 with the sale beginning on November 29.
