|Cirque du Soleil Shine On
- Circus company back in town
CIRQUE DU SOLEIL return to the Royal Albert Hall January 7. Their four week run reprises one of the circus company's most popular shows, Saltimbanco.
Saltimbanco's optimistic take on modern life comprises juggling, clowning, dancing and all manner of acrobatics. As ever, choreography and circus craft combine to make this show more spectacle than story. The only disappointment for fans of the Canadian company is their failure to make Battersea Power Station their permanent home despite the success of their last show in the derelict building.
Cirque du Soleil was founded in 1984 in Quebec by a troupe of street performers. The company has since soared to the dizzying heights of its performers. Cirque du Soleil currently employs over 2000 people and has so far sold more than 30 million tickets for shows worldwide.
