Crazy for Sue
- Susan Strohman's latest comes to town

CONTACT transfers from Broadway to London this Autumn. The musical is directed by Susan 'Crazy for You' Strohman, and replaces dance hit Umoja at the Queen's theatre.

Strohman's other hits include The Showboat, Oklahoma, The Music Man and The Producers. Her flair for devising and directing has earned her several Tony awards, and Contact confirms her reputation for accessible, clever choreography. Comprising the mini-narratives 'Swinging,' 'Did You Move' and 'Contact,' Strohman's latest employs dance and dialogue rather than song to explore how people connect with each other.

"I saw a young girl in a short yellow dress who was clearly there to make contact," explains Strohman, who says her inspiration for Contact came from a seduction scene she witnessed in an after hours Manhattan dance club. With no singing numbers, Contact looks fated to a happier stay in London than its predecessor Umoja, which was ousted from its last home at the Shaftesbury theatre by complaints from the locals about noise levels.
