De Niro Launches Queen Musical
- Star backer at world premiere of We Will Rock You

WE WILL ROCK YOU, the new Queen musical, received mostly favourable comments at its world premiere in the West End last night, despite a plot line that had some critics grasping for the sick-bag.

Written by former stand-up comic Ben Elton, the musical works loads of Queen songs into the story of Galileo and Scaramouche whose quest is to find some lost guitars and re-invent rock music for the world of 2302. The pair of lovers are up against, you guessed it, the evil Killer Queen.

Shoddy the storyline might be, but the music, set, choreography and sheer glitzy vibe had last night's audience singing the praises of Elton's work.

That will please the show's main backer, Robert de Niro, who was in attendance at the Dominion theatre last night along with a host of other celebrities.
