'Nervous' Madonna Grabs Limelight
- Pop queen in West End practice run

MADONNA took to the London stage last night in a preview performance of Up for Grabs, a play about an art dealer's trickery over a Jackson Pollock painting.

No members of the press were allowed into to the show at the Wyndham's theatre, but interviews with some of the 700 strong audience revealed that Madonna came through a nervous opening act to finish the on top form.

"You could tell she was a bit worried at the start," said Melanie Ainscliffe, 26, from Hammersmith. "But this was her first go at it, and she pulled through in the end."

Up for Grabs opens officially on May 23 for a scheduled ten week run.
