Law Confronts The Devil
- Jude Law plays Dr Faustus

BRITISH FILM star Jude Law takes to the stage tonight in Dr Faustus. The co-production with the Young Vic launches Law's new theatre company, Natural Nylon.

No stranger to morality tales, Law's starring roles in films like Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Enemy of the Gates should stand him in good stead for performing Marlowe's masterpiece. David Lan directs the 16th century drama about the man who sells his soul for wealth and power.

Law and Lan last collaborated in 1999 when Law was invited to perform in the Young Vic's Tis Pity She's a Whore. Now Law has plays of his own to stage, with a theatre company that builds on his film connections and aims to stage new works, old classics and also to rework films for the stage. Next up for Natural Nylon theatre company is a reworking of Chekhov's The Three Sisters in which fellow film stars Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Sean Pertwee and Sadie Frost get the chance to strut their stuff.
