West End Rose Rage
- Edward Hall goes it alone

PETER HALL's son Edward Hall marks his departure from his father's Royal Shakespeare Company with an all male production of Shakespeare's Henry VI plays. Rose Rage opens June 16 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and looks set to provide stiff competition for the RSC.

Hall quit his father's company earlier this year in favour of starting his own company, Propeller. Hitherto he worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company on the history play Julius Caesar, a play whose preoccupation with power and politics foreshadowed the tensions that still divide the turbulent RSC.

Rose Rage likewise focuses on the long battle between the Yorks and the Lancasters as they fight for the crown. Propeller's debut show promises enough blood and violence to revamp Shakespeare for a new audience.
