Cabaret Takes Over the Town
- Mean fiddler revamp West End cinema

MEAN FIDDLER have announced plans to convert the 400 seat ABC cinema in Piccadilly into a cabaret hot spot. This new centre will rival the nearby Jermyn Street theatre, which specialises in cabaret, revue and musical theatre.

Leading British festival and venue promoters Mean Fiddler take the lead from America where cabaret has long been a popular evening's entertainment. The recent re-release of Liza Minnelli's Cabaret film and the Arts Theatre's successful programming of late night cabaret should help popularise the live act art form in London.

Live at the Arts was programmed in a bid to woo a young crowd following the September 11 decline of musical theatregoers and has been wooing new audiences over the past year. Cabaret looks set to attract a younger crowd to the West End.
