Harry Police Probe Princely Friends
- 'Private matter' made public by snooping cops

PRINCE HARRY is back at Eton school today following the weekend's revelations over his drug and alcohol habits.

Media watchdog the Press Complaints Commission has warned the press to lay off the 17 year-old, but serious questions remain over the affair.

Few would begrudge Harry and his family time and space in which to take stock of the situation, but many will also question the scale of the operation behind the Prince's admission of a penchant for the odd cannabis joint.

"This is entirely a private matter," said a spokesperson for Prince Charles last night.

If that were really the case, someone had better let the police know. It has emerged that at least 30 regulars of the Rattlebone pub near Highgrove House in Gloucester (where Harry lives with Prince Charles) were investigated by police in connection with Harry's drug taking.

As well as raising serious issues of civil liberty infringements, the size of such an operation is open to question given the trivial nature of the Prince's misbehaviour and the likelihood the officers involved would have been better employed going after real criminals.
