Scary Braves Stage Fright
- Mel B stars in the Vagina Monologues

SCARY SPICE Mel B joins the cast of the Vagina Monologues for four weeks starting February 26 at the New Ambassador's Theatre. "This is as exciting as anything I encountered while touring the world," says the one-time Spice Girl.

Mel says that she wanted to appear in the show as soon as she saw it because of its emphasis on empowering women. But she also confesses that the prospect of performing someone else's words is a daunting one. "You have to do justice to the women whose stories you are reading," Mel explains.

Mel's stage debut for a limited run marks a departure from the music scene where she made her name as part of the manufactured Spice Girl band. In favouring less demanding projects which will let her spend more time with her daughter Phoenix, she seems to be taking one of the morals of the Vagina Monologues to heart. "A woman has to put her child first," says Scary.
