- Britain resolves to banish ignorance NEW YEAR'S resolutions are usually made against sins of the body like gluttony, drunkenness and smoking but this time around it appears British people have turned their attention to the mind. According to an ICM poll, 44 per cent of New Year's pledges for 2003 involve learning, putting education at the top of the resolution pops. Most popular subjects to tackle for next year are computers and foreign languages, according to ICM's survey of 900 people. Losing weight is still a big concern for many, with 36 per cent planning to bring the full force of their will power to bare on sticking to a diet. |
