Sean and Sam in Scottish Play
- Edward Hall directs star studded Macbeth

SEAN BEAN and Samantha Bond play husband and wife in Edward Hall's Macbeth. The production opens at the Albery Theatre August 7 following a short regional tour.

Bean plays the fated thane turned tyrant. His work as the baddie in James Bond film GoldenEye prepares him for this gritty role opposite Samantha 'Miss Money Penny' Bond, whose part as the ambitious wife hoist on her own petard also builds on her acting experience in other Bond films. Bond's sultry James Bond credentials include the Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies films as well as Royal Shakespeare Company roles in shows like All's Well That Ends Well.

The Scottish play is Hall's third since quitting the Royal Shakespeare Company his father started. His impressive track record with Rose Rage and The Constant Wife, two current West End hits, promises a flourishing future in the West End. Though superstitious thesps may fear to say the Scottish play's name, this production of Macbeth sounds far from doomed.
