Lloyd's Slow Dive Across London
- Marathon runner pushes the boat out for Friday finish

THOUGHT the London Marathon was over? Think again. Lloyd Scott still has three quarters of the course to go.

In fairness to the slowcoach from Rainham in Essex, he is plodding along kitted out in a full deep sea diver's kit, complete with lead boots (weighing 22lbs each) and helmet (40lbs).

Scott started with the rest of the 30,000 runners on Sunday but doesn't expect to arrive at the finishing line in The Mall until Friday, a stunning feat of tardiness tat he hopes will take him into the record books as the slowest marathon runner of all time.

"This is probably the maddest and most demanding thing I have ever done," Scott said, though thee is a serious side to his bizarre trek - Scott hopes to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for cancer and leukaemia sufferers. Scott himself recovered from a bone marrow transplant after being was struck by leukaemia in 1989.
