Chitty Charity Bash Goes off With a Bang
- Truly scrumptious musical raises cash

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG attracted a collection of celebs to a charity performance of the show held last night at the London Palladium. The star-studded bash raised money for Unicef and SOS.

Guests included Joan Collins, Sir Cliff Richard, Shirley Bassey and ex-Eastender Martin Kemp. Dame Vera Lynn and Bond actor Roger Moore came straight from the Queen Mother's funeral to host the event. RSC director Adrian Noble also showed up to take credit for his staging of Bond Creator Ian Fleming's book.

Noble takes inspiration from the 1968 film screenplay written by Roald Dahl. Including all the songs and even the famous flying car, the musical adaptation of the children's classic film looks set to attract a crowd when it opens April 16.
