Hollywood Stars Set for London Film Festival
- Terrorist outrage is no barrier for A-list names

SOME of Hollywood's best-known names are expected to attend the launch of the highlight of the British film industry's calender, the London Film Festival.

Robert Altman, Martin Sheen, Francis Ford Coppola, Kevin Spacey and Helena Bonham Carter are among those set to appear at the festival, which takes place over a fortnight in November.

Despite last week's terrorist attacks in America, festival organisers say the event, host to several world and European premieres, is going ahead and that there has been no cancellation by attendees.

The opening night on 7 November kicks off with Robert Altman's latest film, Gosford Park, starring Maggie Smith, Alan Bates, Ryan Phillippe and Scott Thomas. Monsters Inc, the highly anticipated new animated movie from the creators of Toy Story - featuring the voices of Billy Crystal and John Goodman - will be the first ever animated feature premiered at the festival when it is screened on 17 November.

Other films due to be screened include John Woo's World War 2 movie Windtalkers starring Christian Slater and Nicholas Cage, Barry Levinson's Bandits, and Michael Haneke's The Piano Teacher.
