Trade Centre to be Cut From Future Films
- Images of destroyed building edited to avoid causing distress

FORTHCOMING film releases featuring the World Trade Centre are to have the images of the now destroyed building edited out to avoid traumatising film-goers.

Those affected include Ben Stiller's Zoolander, John Cusack's Serendipity and the Al Pacino film People I Know - all of which are set in New York. Editors are carefully analysing each film for any shots of the towers.

People I know stars Pacino as a drug-addicted New Yorker publicist who visits an opium den in the World Trade Centre. One of the scenes to be removed sees the twin towers viewed upright and turned on their side to illustrate Pacino's confusion. Producer Leslie Urdang made the decision to cut them in light of last week's tragic events.

"It is an abstract, highly stylish shot that is completely inappropriate and will be removed from the film," Urdang said. "We've known in our minds that and some other shots of the landscape would have to be reviewed, but this is the first day we've gotten a chance to look at it."
