Primal Scream 'Mortified' Over Bomb Song
- 'We're in a position where we could get lynched,' says Bobby Gillespie

IT WOULD undoubtedly be at the top of the list of terrorist-associated songs that are currently banned from airplay on American radio, but Primal Scream themselves have spoken of the numbness they feel over the title of their latest song - Bomb The Pentagon.

The band, well known for their hardline stance against US foreign policy said they were devastated by the tragedies in New York and Washington. Bassist Gary 'Mani' Mounfield said: "I feel very numbed by it. It's a very strange scenario to find myself in. We're in a position where we could get lynched."

It is not yet known whether the title of the track will be changed, as happened recently with US rock band Jimmy Eat World who changed the title of their forthcoming single Bleed American to Bleed.

"We're obviously mortified at some of the scenes of those poor people who have sod all to do with someone else's politics," said Mani. "On the other hand, America has been the bully boy of the planet and it just proves that they're not infallible. It's very strange how they've been so lax to have been got at themselves. It's a great tragedy."
