London Hotels Suffer Tourist Stayaway
- Special offers created to attract visitors

NEW FIGURES have backed up early indications from hotel managers that London suffered a big drop in room occupancy last month.

Business analysts PKF calculate that 17 per cent fewer rooms were booked in London this September compared to last year and that there was a 45 per cent fall in visits by US travellers following the September 11 terrorist outrages.

October is expected to show an even more dramatic decline as it will be the first full month to post figures following September 11.

The good news for those who do decide to make the trip is that empty rooms have encouraged hotels to be creative in attracting visitors. There are a number of attractive offers around, not least here at LondonNet.
