Ronnie Barker Prepares for War
- Veteran comedian comes out of hiding for film about Churchill

IT'S been thirteen years since he said goodnight, but now Ronnie Barker is to come out of retirement for a big-budget movie.

The veteran comedian is to star in a BBC film about war-time Prime Minister Winston Churchill. He will play Churchill's manservant Inches in the movie, titled A Lonely War. Albert Finney is lined up to play the role of Churchill.

Barker has kept a low profile since retiring over a decade ago in order to run an antique shop in Chipping Norton. He has turned down almost all offers of work with the exception of a reunion with partner Ronnie Corbett in 1999.

Produced by Oscar-Winning director Ridley Scott, A Lonely War is due to be screened next year
