Payout for UK Families of September 11th Victims
- Millions in compensation pot for TV viewers

MILLIONS of pounds in compensation could be paid out to relatives of the British victims of the September 11th attacks on New York who saw the horrific events unfold on TV.

Relatives of the 300 or so casualties who can show they suffered 'mental cruelty' after watching the fall of the World Trade Centre towers are eligible for up to UKP27,000 each, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority has said.

THE CICA's largesse marks a break with previous settlements, where the crime causing mental injury had to happen on UK soil. "It shows the scheme has moved with the times," said a CICA spokesperson
