All New Taboo for the West End
- The Venue hosts a Boy George musical

THE VENUE has received its license as the West End's latest addition. From 11 January 2002, Adam Kenwright's new 300 seater plays host to a Boy George musical called Taboo.

The Venue follows in the footsteps of smaller theatres like Jermyn Street Theatre, Jackson's Lane Theatre and the Bridewell, all of which were converted from church basements. But the real role model for the Venue is the Arts theatre.

The seventy year old Arts theatre was hitherto the youngest West End theatre. Furthermore, the Arts theatre's most recent hit was the Pet Shop Boys musical, Closer to Heaven. No doubt Adam Kenwright is hoping for a longer run with his own venture into clubland musicals.
