School's Out for The Graduate
- Mrs Robinson to say goodbye after multi-actress run

THE GRADUATE has posted early closing notices and will now shut up shop on January 19, Linda Gray being the last Mrs Robinson in the famous cradle-snatching role.

Gray is best known for her role as the hard drinking and lovelorn Sue Ellen in the 1980s soap opera Dallas. Like predecessors Jerry Hall and Kathleen Turner, her performance as a tippler with a penchant for younger men has convinced theatregoers and critics alike.

But since September 11, Terry Johnson's stage version of one graduate's sexual odyssey has failed to woo a crowd despite featuring an ever changing cast of celebrities on stage. Art, The Vagina Monologues and The Play Wot I Wrote depend on the same gimmick, and in the current climate, who knows how long they will last.
